KGL Group Rallies Behind Black Stars Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 Knockout Challenge

In a powerful demonstration of national pride and unwavering belief in Ghana's senior national football team, KGL Group, proud headline sponsors of the Black Stars, led by Group Executive Chairman Mr Alex Apau Dadey, paid a courtesy visit to the team to reaffirm the Group's steadfast support and encourage the squad as they continue their FIFA World Cup 2026 journey.

The visit came after an impressive group-stage campaign in which the Black Stars secured qualification for the Round of 32 through a hard-fought victory over Panama, a resolute draw against England and a spirited performance against Croatia. Despite a narrow 2–1 defeat in their final Group L fixture, Ghana progressed to the knockout stage as one of the tournament's best third-placed teams under FIFA's expanded competition format for the first time since its memorable quarter-final run in 2010.

Addressing the players and technical team, Mr Dadey commended their discipline, resilience and commitment, describing their performances as a source of inspiration and national pride. He assured the squad that KGL Group and millions of Ghanaians remain firmly behind them, encouraging the team to continue playing with courage, unity and determination as they pursue further success on football's biggest stage.

The delegation was warmly received by the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, alongside Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee and Player Relations Liaison, Stephen Appiah. Also present were Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Marvin Senaya and members of the technical team.

Mr. Simeon-Okraku expressed appreciation for KGL Group's continued commitment to Ghanaian football, describing the visit as another demonstration of the strong and enduring partnership between the Football Association and one of its most significant corporate supporters. In recognition of KGL Group's unwavering commitment, he presented Mr Dadey with an official Black Stars jersey bearing the logos of the GFA's corporate partners, with KGL leading. Speaking on behalf of the players, Captain Jordan Ayew thanked KGL Group for its continued encouragement and belief in the team throughout the tournament. He assured the delegation that the players remain fully committed to giving their all for Ghana and carrying the nation's hopes with pride as they prepare for the knockout stage.

KGL Group's commitment to Ghana football extends well beyond tournament support. In 2025, the Group entered into a landmark two-year sponsorship agreement worth GH¢20 million with the Ghana Football Association in support of the Black Stars, representing one of the most significant private-sector investments in the national team. Beyond the senior national side, KGL Group has also pledged US$1 million over five years towards the development of juvenile football, reinforcing its long-term commitment to nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian talent.
